Wimbledon

Starts Monday, June 22nd

New Tennis scoring system looks like this:

3 points for each person you correctly guess will participate in the finals and a 5 point bonus for correctly predicting the champion.

Sample scores:
11 points - you correctly predict the final match and the winner.
8 points - you correctly predict the winner of the final match but not their opponent
6 points - you correctly predict the final match but choose the wrong winner.
3 points - you correctly predict one of the two people who particpate in the final but have the wrong champion.

Men's Bracket:

Scoring Question

I want to adjust the scores from our first two tennis tournaments (Austrailian Open and French Open). I don't like the way that I set up the scoring. In both tournaments there have been people who have correctly predicted the final match but got the final result wrong but they got less points than someone who correctly predicted the second place finisher even though the person they said they would lose to didn't even participate in the final.

I'm asking for suggestions for rescoring and permission to go ahead and do that. I would like to get this taken care of before Wimbledon starts on June 22.

French Open

Tennis starts the second Grand Slam event on May 25. I wasn't a big fan of the way I scored the Australian Open, but in order to be consistent, I will stick with it.

Here's what I want. Predict who will win both the men's and women's tournaments and who they will beat in the final. Scoring will be as follows.

1pt for each person you predict correctly in the final.
2pts for each person you correctly predict their finish.
4pt bonus for getting both.
These points are cumulative.

Examples:

0pts - Neither of your picks participate in the finals.
1pt - One of your picks participates in the finals but does not finish where you said they would. (Your winner is runner up, or your runner up is the winner.)
2pts - Both of your picks participate in the finals but your winner loses the match.
3 pts - One of your picks participates in the finals and finishes where you said they would.
10 pts - You correctly predict the finals match up and the winner of that match up.

***Scoring adjustment below***

Austrailian Open

All right, it's time to find our well rounded sports prognosticators. The new tennis season starts Sunday with the first Grand Slam of the year. I will post all four Grand Slam events this year. Since I am giving late notice I will push the deadline to Monday.

To give you a little help I am attempting to post links to both the men's and women's draws below.
